Cover

Approximately 95% of the covers are printed on 240 grams Sulfate cardboard. Sulfate cardboard is a very suitable type of cardboard for covers. Often these pinted covers will be laminated. The cover will then be provided with a plastic coating. This laminate protects your cover against scratches and stains and gives your dissertation a beautiful appearance. There are two types of laminate as standard: matt or glossy. Whether you choose matt or glossy laminate is often a matter of personal preference and taste. Matt laminate makes the colors on the cover a bit duller and glossy laminate will make them more bright. There is no price difference between these two types of laminate.

Inner pages

The most common paper types used for the inner pages are offered as standard. These are 115 grams G-print (off-white), 100 grams Everprint (100% recycled), 90 grams Biotop (yellowish) and 90 grams HVO (bright white). These types are directly available. Some paper samples are included at the back of our free guidebook. On all the paper samples we printed the same image, allowing you to see how the paper affects the readability, color, etc. The choice of the paper is mainly a matter of personal taste.

Readability

We naturally take into account the legibility of your dissertation. That is why we have carefully selected the standard paper types and your choice is always ‘safe’. Our 4 standard papertypes are 115 grams G-print (off-white), 100 grams Everprint (100% recycled), 90 grams Biotop (yellowish) and 90 grams HVO (bright white)

Translucency

The thickness of the paper weight is expressed in grams per m2. For theses, usually 115 grams G-print paper is used. This is mainly because the opacity of G-print is better than, for example, that of HVO (WoodFreeOffset) or Biotop paper.

Coated or uncoated?

We basically distinguish two types of paper, uncoated paper, such as 90 grams HVO and 90 grams Biotop paper and coated paper such as 115 grams G-print paper. Coated paper transfers color images more vigorously because the ink remains on it instead of drawing into the paper. So effectively more ink is left, making the colors a bit brighter. This is one of the reasons why most theses are printed on 115 grams G-print.

Your entire thesis printed on recycled paper?

We can do it for you! We then use 100 grams Everprint paper for the inside and 250 grams Rebello for the cover. With these paper types, your thesis completely consists of recycled paper. We can also add the FSC logo.
